Meet Our Leaders

Our leaders, Rev. Winston Smith and First Lady Janet Smith, have been serving

our congregation from  August 1, 2001 to present. They have served 17 of the 27

churches in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, Jamaica Conference,

such a great achievement!

Rev. and Mrs. Smith are supported by their 3 wonderful adult children and 3

grandchildren.

Rev. Smith served the Jamaica Conference as General Superintendent and later

Bishop 2001-2012.  He currently serves as member of the Conference Counsel of

Administration, member of the Stationing Committee, member of the Ministerial

Relations Committee, and Chairman of the Strategic Development Committee.

Rev. Smith also serves the community as Chairman for the Golden Spring Early

Childhood Education Centre which was founded and operated by the Carpenter's 

Memorial United Brethren In Christ Church, and as a member of the West Rural

Ministers Fraternal, which he founded and was president in 2003.

First Lady Janet Smith has served the Jamaica Conference in various capacities,

namely: member of the Conference Council of Administration; member of the

Stationing Committee; Women's Missionary  Fellowship President  for 9 years;

and Chairperson of the Education Oversight Committee. Mrs. Smith has also

served the Carpenter’s Church in the capacities of Women Missionary 

Fellowship President, Choir Director, and Sunday School teacher. She currently

serves on the Church's board as member at large, given her vast experience.
